Cracked Screen? Repair vs. Replace Explained

Not every cracked screen needs a full replacement. We break down when a repair makes sense and when it's time for a new display.

A cracked screen is more than cosmetic — sharp glass, touch issues, and LCD damage can all affect daily use. The right fix depends on how deep the damage goes.

If the touch layer still responds and there are no black spots or lines on the display, a screen replacement is usually straightforward. Deep impact damage that affects the LCD often needs a full display assembly.

Small chips at the edge may be livable short term, but cracks tend to spread with pressure and temperature changes. Waiting too long can also let dust and moisture reach internal parts.

We'll inspect your device and explain the options in plain language — including cost and turnaround — before any work begins. Most screen repairs are completed same day at our Hull shop.
